Many times scratches on hardwood floors can be attributed to the lack of preventative maintenance in the home. There are many easy things you can do to prevent scratches, and Bona offers solutions if they are already there! Follow These Simple Steps: Take high heels off at the door. In fact, if possible always remove shoes at the door! Trim your pet's claws. Dust and vacuum floors on a regular basis to rid of sand, dirt, or grit build-up. Place mats both inside and outside exterior doors to trap dirt. Use rugs in high traffic areas. Use protective felt pads on the feet of furniture. Mop floors AT LEAST every other week. However, if you already have scratches, we do offer Bona High and Low Gloss Polish to fill in minor scratches. Here's What We Recommend: Start with our cleaner. We offer two cleaners, a Hardwood and a Stone Tile & Laminate Cleaner.  Both are pH balanced, non-toxic, biodegradable and leave no dulling or sticky residue behind.

Both use similar formulas, but the Stone Tile & Laminate Cleaner contains a slightly stronger degreaser. In other words, the hardwood cleaner is safe to use on ANY hard surface, and we recommend the Stone Tile & Laminate Cleaner for other hard surfaces. Next, you will want to use our polish, which is quite easy to apply. We now offer a high and low gloss option. Both are urethanes in an acrylic base, which means they are much more durable than other acrylic and ammonia products available. The lower the sheen, the fewer scratches you see.  It's all about personal preference.  Check out our How To Polish video for more information on these products.
