Acrylic care consists of no more than normal wipe-cleaning to keep it looking new – but care should be taken to avoid scratches. Acrylic is also stable when exposed to sunlight, so it will not yellow or crack even when used in normal outdoor environments. You should avoid household cleaners like Windex, 409, and Fantastik. The chemicals in these products can dull and craze the Acrylic. The best way to care for your Acrylic products, whether it be Acrylic furniture or Acrylic awards, is to clean with warm water and a small amount of liquid soap such as Ivory, rinse and dry. Always use a soft cloth as not to scratch the Acrylic surface. Items made out of Acrylic can sometimes scratch. Small or fine scratches can easily be removed by using products like Novus 2. For deeper scratches you might need to sand and/or polished them out with a buffing wheel. You can buy buffing and scratch removal kits from a company, like Craftics.
